“The Mark Levinson JC-2 is designed by John Curl which it’s design is of Class A circuitry. Levinson claims the desgin is extremely stable, utilizing very low feedback, thus eliminating TIM (transient-intermodulation) distortions. The JC-2 is powered by a remote power supply, again one of Levinson’s “”attention to detail”” efforts to build the perfect preamp. The JC-2 is clean-crystal clean. It does not add any grain or hash to the upper midrange and high frequencies and yet it mirror-images the frequencies, details and dynamics of any signal that is processed through it. Mark Levinson spared no effort to make the JC-2 the best preamp. The JC-2 has less apparent coloration than any other available. The top end, while assertive, is not aggressive. The lows never sounded more controlled than before”
